TROPHY
A transformative performance concept that shifts in form - from child friendly roving performance to late night, adults only entertainment and gallery instalation experience. Drawing on mythology, both ancient and contemporary, the lines between species, gender and ownership are blurred. The work explores the value we place upon the body as both a trophy and as a commodity.
In 2015 James undertook a Stephen Cummins Bequest Residency at Performance Space, Sydney, to further develop this material under the mentorship of Sydney based artist Victoria Hunt.
